Sometimes starting with a blank slate can be a little daunting. Other times you might just need some consistency in the layout of your digital magazine issues, or to customize sales proposals on the fly.

To help teams speed up content production, while keeping branding locked down, Turtl now offers a series of ready-made Turtl Docs. So, whenever you’re you’ll have the option to choose a template as part of the creation process.

We wanted to make sure there was something for everyone, so there are two different types of templates:

Use Cases 💼

These are templates that have been created by Turtl’s fabulous design. You can choose from a variety of best-in-class designs for popular content types, such as product guides, magazines, playbooks, and reports.

These templates are a great place to start if you need a bit of inspiration, or if you just want to see what’s possible!

My Company 🏢

Under ‘My Company’, you will find templates created by you, or your team members. These might be designs that you’ve created from scratch or a ‘Use Case’ template that you liked the look of, and have since made your own.

Anyone with permission to create content can create a template that will be added to this view.

A quick brush up on existing functionality:

Saving a template to a workspace 💾

You can add templates to specific Workspaces which means certain templates will only be visible depending on the Workspace you are creating in. This is super handy if you have privacy concerns about some of the documents you’re creating!

To do this, you need to go to ‘Manage templates’, find your chosen template, and then select ‘Add to workspace’ in the dropdown.

To see which Workspace your Turtl Doc is part of currently, you will need to use the Doc info bookmarklet and see which workspace it is marked as belonging to.

How to save a doc as a template 📄

Created an incredible design that you want your team to be using for the creation of specific digital documents? To save a Turtl Doc as a template, you will need to go to the dropdown next to ‘Edit’ and then select ‘Make a template’.

Manage templates ⚙️

Only Admins can access ‘Manage templates’!
