When it comes to podcasts, as content consumers we are spoiled for choice. As of January 2020, there are now over 30 million episodes on iTunes alone, and this number continues to rise daily. Podcasts are great resources for improving your marketing knowledge and learning tips and tricks.
With so many options on the market, where do you even start when it comes to choosing which podcasts are worth your time? Well, luckily for you lovely readers, I’ve decided to share my top five favorite podcasts for marketers. These are all podcasts that I’ve subscribed to and look forward to listening to regularly.
At the top of my list has to be the Marketing School podcast hosted by Neil Patel and Eric Siu. The majority of episodes are kept to under ten minutes, making the content super easy to digest and fit into a busy schedule. The duo covers a host of different marketing topics, such as content marketing, social media, SEO, email marketing, and conversion optimization. Talking the audience through the marketing lessons that they have learned through the years, this podcast provides actionable takeaways that you can apply immediately.
Continuing with the theme of snackable content… this awesome podcast, created by the team at Buffer, has new episodes weekly, and many of them are under the 15-minute mark. The team shares social media insights, discuss strategies from brands and businesses, and provide a whole load of inspiration. The title of the podcast may suggest that it’s only for social media marketers but that’s certainly not the case, it’s likely that you’ll find something actionable in any of the episodes.
This daily podcast provides insights about B2B marketing, account-based marketing (ABM), content marketing, buyer personas and much more. Each episode features an interview with a B2B sales or marketing leader or an industry thought leader. The show’s hosts, James Carbary and Jonathan Green, have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to business development so you’re sure to learn a thing or two!
Hosted by Michael Stelzner, the CEO and founder of Social Media Examiner, this is an excellent podcast for all the social media marketers out there. In this podcast, you can expect to hear success stories from real businesses, pick up plenty of tips, and learn new strategies and tactics that will all help improve your social media marketing efforts. Topics covered include Facebook ads, YouTube, video marketing, content strategy, and much more.
New to the podcast scene, The BMC podcast was started in December 2019. The Business Marketing Club is a network for B2B marketers run by B2B marketers, you can check it out here. Each episode features interviews with two marketing leaders offering insight and inspiration into current topics. Plus, you can expect to hear from experienced CMOs offering useful advice on how to climb the career ladder, and you’ll be sure to pick up some top networking tips.
